June, 5th 1944, Airborne units are packing their stuff for the great crusade. 
Dropped in Normandy with a lot of equipment, heavier than their own weight !
To be able to carry all this equipment, paratroopers were using a lot of bags, pouches, and of course this Tape. Often see on paratroopers M36 suspenders for rigger made (see photo attached, in Normandy), this black tape was also used to fix explosives on bridges, rails ... (part of the demolition set).
It was also unformaly used on hooks, metal parts and dog tags to reduce the noise when moving.
 
This tape is in perfect condition dated April 1943.
