Often seen around soldiers' necks, in use from ww2 to vietnam (P52). This tool became a soldier's best friend. 
These examples were made just after war, late 40s and are stamped US. They are identical to US ww2 model so perfect for reeanctment or to replace an original (expensive nowadays).
