Money often tells a lot on a country. In 1944, the French money was stamped with Vichy (collaborators) insignias. The liberation of France and the invasion will change this money. GI were given their pay in Francs to be able to commerce with population. Here is a 5 Fr note made in USA for the Invasion in 1944.
